CCSL is a coalition that formed when individuals from all walks of life who were concerned about the humanitarian crisis in Sri Lanka came together in June 2009. They included leaders and activists from a variety of faith, labour, and community organizations.
Through civic engagement and appealing to politicians, CCSL hopes to conquer the following goals:
- Full Access of independent observers and international media to all refugee camps in Sri Lanka
- Allow delivery of food and humanitarian supplies by NGOs to refugees in camps
- Expedited process for refugees to Canada for family reunification.
- Expedited process for the protection and care of children affected by the war, that is consistent with the "Best Interests of the Child" principle articulated in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
- Develop international support and reach out to other international players
- Push for a just political solution based on full rights for all citizens including the genuine aspirations of the minorities of Sri Lanka
- Advocacy for the safety and security of Internally Displaced Persons, their right to free movement and timely resettlement to their homes
- Call for prosecution of all Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes committed by any parties during the war

Toronto based group with a mandate to promote a stable and healthy multiracial, multi-ethnic environment in the Metro Toronto community by undertaking educational, research, and advocative activities that promote racial and ethnic harmony
Toronto & York Region Labour Council
The Toronto and York Region Labour Council is a central labour body that combines the strength of hundreds of local unions representing 195,000 working men and women and their families. Its mandate is to organize and advocate on issues that are vital to working people throughout the region, and to carry out local campaigns for the Canadian Labour Congress
Canadian Tamil Congress
The CTC has avidly worked to integrate various community service organizations and individuals from coast to coast in an effort to better represent and serve its nationwide community. The congress’s main function is to systematize Tamil-Canadian concerns and act as the community’s spokesperson on a municipal, provincial, federal and international level.
Canadian Centre for Victims of Torture
The Canadian Centre for Victims of Torture aids survivors in overcoming the lasting effects of torture and war. In partnership with the community, the Centre supports survivors in the process of successful integration into Canadian society, works for their protection and integrity, and raises awareness of the continuing effects of torture and war on survivors and their families. The CCVT gives hope after the horror.
Canadian Peace Alliance
CPA member groups range from grassroots community groups to major pan-Canadian organizations. Our goals include redirecting funds from military spending to human needs; working toward global nuclear disarmament; making Canada a consistent leader for world peace; strengthening world institutions for the peaceful resolution of conflict; and protecting the rights of all people to work for peace, social & economic justice.

By encouraging political diplomacy and utilizing mass media we hope to bring to light any injustice committed against innocent citizens from anywhere in the world.
